Ladakh Expedition Tour Matho Kangri Day 01: Leh-Shang Sumda or Chogdo Taxi (2 hrs) Leh to Sang sumda is nearly 50 Km and very smooth roads After Breakfast you can drive to Martselang and from there Shang Sumda start trekking to Chogdo 1-2 hrs, Overnight in Camp at Chogdo or Shan Sumda not much different.
Ladakh expedition Tour Matho Kangri Day 02: Chogdo-Base Camp at 4350 meters in 6 -7 hrs. The Matho Kangri expedition from now on, you are following a new and rarely traveled route through the valleys to the east of our objective. Today you turn towards the west into a tributary valley that leads after a long and gradual ascent to the GyunchoLa 4600 meters, from there walk towards south to the Base of Matho Kangri, overnight in camp.

Today, you will cross many spurs and minor passes with occasional views northwards towards the Indus valley and the peaks beyond, you climb up to the ShangLa 4850 meters and then descend to the river. Afterwards you will trek downhill to a nice camping place Matho Phu.

At the pass MathoLa 4900 meters, colorful prayer flags flap in the wind, with the Stok Kangri and Golep Kangri views in the background. Afterwards descend steadily along the narrow valley you will arrive Mankarmo camp. Here you will get many trekkers who are going to climbing Stok Kangri and Golep Kangri.
